When Should I Seek Immediate Dental Care?
A dental problem that is causing a severe toothache, facial swelling or which is making you feel very unwell requires urgent attention.
Please come and see us straightaway or go to your nearest emergency room. A severe dental infection can affect your general health and needs emergency treatment.
What to Do If You Knock Out a Tooth?
If you knock out a tooth, there is a chance it can be reinserted within the first half an hour to an hour after the accident. Carefully pick up the tooth by its crown and rinse off any visible dirt. Store it in a small container with a little saliva or milk, or try to reinsert the tooth, making sure it faces the right way. Come and see us immediately. If a child knocks out a primary tooth, please don’t try to reinsert it as this could damage the adult tooth underneath.
Severe And Painful Toothache
A toothache is considered one of the worst constant pain experienced, and requires treatment fast. We can take the necessary steps to alleviate your pain and suffering, while planning how to remedy the problem properly so that you don't have to suffer a recurrence.
Broken Teeth And Dentures
A broken tooth or denture can be quite an embarrassment and lead to pain when eating. We can try to stabilise broken dentures, or triage broken and shattered teeth within 48 hours.

This guide can help you decide how urgent your dental problem may be. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace advice from a dentist.
Facial swelling, fever, spreading infection, or feeling very unwell
Urgent care recommended.
Facial swelling, fever, bad taste, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, or feeling very unwell may indicate a serious infection.
Next step: Call the clinic now. If breathing, swallowing, rapidly spreading swelling, severe trauma, or heavy bleeding is involved, seek emergency medical care immediately.
Knocked-out tooth, dental trauma, or heavy bleeding
Urgent care recommended.
A knocked-out adult tooth has the best chance of being saved if treated quickly. Heavy bleeding that does not stop with firm pressure also needs urgent care.
Next step: Call the clinic immediately. For an adult tooth, hold it by the crown, avoid scrubbing the root, and store it in milk or saliva if it cannot be reinserted safely.
Severe toothache or pain keeping you awake
Dental appointment recommended soon.
Severe dental pain, pain that wakes you, or pain not settling with normal pain relief should be assessed as soon as possible.
Next step: Phone the clinic or book online. If swelling, fever, or feeling unwell develops, treat it as urgent.
Broken tooth, lost filling, crown issue, or sharp edge
Dental appointment recommended soon.
A broken tooth or lost filling may worsen even if it is not painful. Sharp edges can cut the tongue or cheek.
Next step: Book an appointment. Keep any crown, veneer, or bridge safe and do not use household glue.
Wisdom tooth pain, bad taste, or gum swelling
Dental assessment recommended.
Wisdom tooth infections can flare quickly, especially when there is swelling, bad taste, fever, or difficulty opening.
Next step: Call the clinic if symptoms are worsening. Book a consultation if symptoms are mild or recurring.
Sensitivity, bleeding gums, check-up, clean, cosmetic, crowns, or bridges
Routine dental appointment recommended.
Sensitivity, bleeding gums, worn teeth, cosmetic concerns, crowns, bridges, and prevention needs are best checked before they become urgent.
Next step: Book online or call the clinic.
